Sixteen short films made by Rowan University students were showcased at the university’s fourth annual Campus MovieFest. Aspiring filmmakers were challenged to shoot and edit a five minute short film in one week with a laptop computer and camera provided by the Campus MovieFest staff. Rowan’s Student University Programmers (SUP) sponsored the event.
Anonymous Rowan students, faculty and staff chose the top 16 films to be shown in Rowan’s Student Center Eynon Ballroom on Friday, March 8.
Awards were given for Best Actor, Best Actress and many others. The winners go on to compete at the Campus MovieFest national competition in Hollywood, CA.
“Girl Talk” was the big winner of the night as it won Best Picture and Nick Arena, one of the film’s stars, won Best Actor. You can check out the film here.
The other films can be found on the Campus MovieFest website. Be sure to check out the March 14 issue of The Whit for a complete rundown of the event, including interviews with cast and crew members of the winning films.
